about
Here she is, the first original single!
Clarity may not have been the first song I've ever written, but I'm certainly proud enough of it to release it as my debut. Inspired by an original arctic fox character of the same name, the song tells a story of struggling where you are on your life's journey and forging a new road ahead. It was initially conceived in February of 2018, when my life was quite different than how it is now. Nearly two years ago, in many senses, I was in a fog. It took a lot of work and a lot of help from the people around me to see through the mess and relocate the path I needed to put my life on. Rest assured, all that work was worth it. Soon after jotting down the early lyrics and guitar lick, I found clarity.
Thank you to all who have been with me to support and witness my transformation. Thanks especially for the pep talk that sparked this, Bandit.
Stay frosty :3
lyrics
I found Clarity
In the dark in the hall.
Yeah, I found Clarity
but I could barely see at all.
There were tears on the tile.
There was screaming like wild,
So I sat down and cried along.
I found Clarity
as she clutched me in her arms.
Yeah, I found Clarity
so we went to gaze at stars.
We layed down in the field
And put down our shields.
You opened up to me
Just like I thought you'd be.
Sweet Clarity.
~~~~~~
I found Clarity
In the greenhouse by the quad.
And you found Clarity
Though they told you it was flawed.
We were living off raisin bran
but it was part of the 4-year plan
and when it comes to this, you're never wrong.
I found Clarity
At that new place in the square.
Yeah, I found Clarity
With thorns and price tags in her hair
but in the heat of it all
you'd never stumble or fall.
So, you said to me
"I'm no longer lost at sea.
In all sincerity,
it's like I won the lottery."
Sweet Clarity.
~~~~~~
I found Clarity
In your bright blue eyes.
Yeah I found you, Clarity.
No hint of a disguise.
Got a bright future ahead
In shades of yellow and red
But you were growing all along
I found Clarity
In your upright listening ears.
Yeah I found you, Clarity
And that's how it's been for years.
We've got a long road ahead,
But again, like I said
Had we not talked 'til three
and blown our salaries
and drove off wild and free
bound for the redwood trees
and shared all those memories
I don't know where I'd be.
Winter Warburton is the lupine alter ego of a 24-year-old hipster from the suburbs of Portland, ME. Serving as his musical
outlet when his creator isn't busy with the monotony of adulthood, Winter enjoys bringing old school conventions and new school perspectives together to create a raw, lyrical soundtrack for the modern soul....more
Fronted in part by someone who was the gateway into my community, Nervous Vulpis has a sound that perfectly blends the pop-rock aesthetics of my childhood radio favorites with just enough modern edge. winter warburton
Meeting Erin and watching her perform these tracks live honestly changed my life. Learning about her journey pushed me to be the musician I am now. I always feel at ease when I hear her on piano. winter warburton
Something completely different from what I make, but BOY I can't stop listening to Tenkitsune. If you like electronica with a furry flair, this should be your next obsession as much as it was mine. winter warburton
